Aerospace and Space

Thales is the only company in the Aerospace sector worldwide with proven capabilities in both on-board and ground-based systems. We are a leading supplier of complex avionics (civil and military), cabin systems (in-flight entertainment) and on-board electrical power systems, as well as simulation and ground-based air traffic management systems.

In air traffic management, Thales's capabilities span the entire flight plan surveillance and security chain, from departure gate through en-route control to the arrival gate in complex and saturated air transport environments. One out of two aircraft in the world lands with a Thales control system.

Within Space, Thales is the European leader in satellite systems and services for a broad range of applications such as commercial telecommunications, navigation, radar and optical observation, meteorology and oceanography, as well as military communication and observation. The Group is present in this market as part of an alliance with Finmeccanica of Italy.

Defence

Defence is the Group's historical core business.  As the European leader in Defence Systems, Thales designs, develops and implements information, command and communication systems, as well as weapon, and protection systems, for the air, land, naval and inter-armed forces.

We meet all kinds of customer needs (interoperability, airborne electronic intelligence and surveillance systems, etc.) by revamping product portfolios (in the field of radar, for example) and launching new-generation product lines, incorporating the latest detection, communications and operations technologies.
