Thales has been present in Argentina for 30 years now, mainly in Air Traffic Control, Naval and Air Force activities. In 1999, the company broke into the market of services dedicated to Information Technologies through a subsidiary which employs 280 people. In 2007, Thales position in Argentina has been reinforced by the transfer of Alcatel activities in the fields of Security, Transportation and Space.
Thales has operated in Brazil for more than 20 years, employing around 250 people. Thales serves most of the governmental customers, both in defence and civilian businesses.
Thales Canada maintains centres-of-excellence that market civil and defense technology solutions worldwide and domestically. Employing 1200 people, sites are located in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver and Halifax. Thales has been in Canada for the past 26 years. Annual sales average $300M Canadian dollars (2006).

Thales has operated in Chile since 1968, employing around 70 people. Thales serves the country's civil aviation authority and armed forces as well as a number of urban transport operators.

Thales generates approximately 10% of its revenues in the United States and its US operations employ around 3,000 people (including joint ventures).

Thales has been present for 30 years in Mexico and currently employs about one hundred people through its Security Services & Solutions division. Based in Mexico Federal District since June 2007, the D3S Integration Centre is supplying a range of advanced integrated solutions in the ground transportation, energy, aerospace and homeland security sectors.
Thales has been present in Venezuela for 30 years both in defense and civil domains. Thales owned Compania General de Automatismo currently employs more than 50 people whereas its subsidiary dedicated to Transportation systems exceeds 70 people.
